Stopping spam comments and fake sign-ups
Settings and plugins that keep bots out.
- Don't need comments? Turn them off in Settings → Discussion, and close comments on existing posts.
- Need comments? Require approval before comments appear, and use an anti-spam plugin such as Akismet or Antispam Bee.
- Fake user sign-ups? If visitors don't need accounts, untick Anyone can register in Settings → General.
- Forms: add a CAPTCHA (such as reCAPTCHA or Cloudflare Turnstile) to contact and registration forms.
