My website is slow

Find where the time goes and fix the usual causes.

  1. Measure first. Run our free site analysis to see what's slow: the server's response time, or heavy images and scripts.
  2. Slow server response (high TTFB)? Turn on page caching. On WordPress, use LiteSpeed Cache. Check that you use a current PHP version.
  3. Heavy pages? Compress and resize images, use WebP, and remove plugins and scripts you don't need.
  4. Hitting your plan's limits? In cPanel, check Resource Usage. If you often reach the limits, see Upgrading a plan.
  5. Slow only at certain times? That may be heavy traffic, a scheduled task, or an attack. Note the times and open a ticket.

Our TTFB and server-side caching article explains the most common cause in depth.
