Rescue mode
Fixing a server that won't boot.
Rescue mode boots the server from a small, separate Linux system loaded from the network. Your disk is untouched, so you can repair files or copy them off.
- In Recovery, choose Rescue mode and enable it. Choose Reboot into it now to start it straight away.
- Connect with SSH as
rootusing the rescue password shown to you. - When you've finished, disable rescue mode and reboot so the server starts your normal system again.
