Resetting the server password

If you forgot the root or Administrator password.

  1. In Recovery, choose Reset password.
  2. Confirm. The server may restart during the process.
  3. The new password is shown once and emailed to you.

On dedicated servers, the reset restarts the server twice: it boots a recovery system, the password is changed on its disk, then it starts normally. This takes about 5 to 10 minutes, works on Linux only, and the panel asks you to confirm first.

Change the password after your first login, and delete the email once you've saved it safely.
