First steps with a Windows server

Connect with Remote Desktop, update and secure it.

  1. Connect with Remote Desktop using the IP address, the user Administrator and the password from your delivery ticket. See Remote Desktop.
  2. Change the Administrator password: press Ctrl+Alt+End inside the session (or use Settings → Accounts) and choose Change a password.
  3. Run Windows Update until no updates remain, and restart.
  4. Limit Remote Desktop: in IDX Panel's firewall, allow port 3389 only from your own IP address if you can.
  5. Keep Microsoft Defender on, and install only software you trust.

Don't block port 3389 in Windows Firewall, or Remote Desktop stops working. If it happens, use the browser connection in IDX Panel or contact support.
