Using Cloudflare with IDX hosting

Add Cloudflare's CDN and protection in front of your site.

  1. Create a free Cloudflare account and add your domain. Cloudflare copies your DNS records; check that all of them are there, especially email (MX) records.
  2. Change your domain's nameservers to the two Cloudflare gives you. See Changing nameservers.
  3. In Cloudflare SSL/TLS, choose Full (strict). Your hosting already has a valid certificate, so this keeps the connection encrypted end to end.
  4. Keep mail-related records (such as mail) as DNS only (grey cloud), not proxied.

From then on, manage your DNS records at Cloudflare, not in cPanel's Zone Editor.

Choosing Flexible SSL causes redirect loops on most sites. Use Full (strict).
