Setting up WooCommerce

Install the plugin and walk through the setup wizard.

  1. Make sure WordPress is installed and secured. See Installing WordPress.
  2. Go to Plugins → Add New, search for WooCommerce, install and activate it.
  3. Follow the setup wizard:
    • your store's address and country,
    • your industry and the type of products (physical, downloads),
    • your currency.
  4. WooCommerce creates the Shop, Cart, Checkout and My Account pages for you.

Then, in order

  1. Add your products.
  2. Set up payments.
  3. Set up shipping.
  4. Set up taxes if they apply to you.
  5. Place a test order from start to finish before launching.

Hosting a store? Make sure the site has HTTPS everywhere. It's required for payments. See Free SSL with AutoSSL.
