Transferring a domain to IDX
Unlock it, get the transfer code and start the transfer.

Before you start
- The domain must be at least 60 days old since registration or the last transfer (a rule for most international extensions).
- It must not be close to expiring. Renew it first if it expires within a few days.
- The owner's email address in the domain's details must be one you can access.
Steps
- At your current provider, unlock the domain (turn off transfer lock).
- Ask them for the transfer code (also called EPP or auth code).
- At IDX, choose Domains → Transfer a domain in the client area, enter the domain and the code, and check out.
- Approve the transfer if you receive a confirmation email.
- The transfer usually completes within a few days. The domain then appears under My domains.
A transfer usually adds one year to the domain's expiry date, so the time you already paid for isn't lost.
Your website and email keep working during the transfer as long as you don't change the nameservers or DNS at the same time.
