Keeping your account secure
Simple habits that stop most account takeovers.

Your account controls your websites, servers, domains and email, so it deserves real protection.
Do this
- Use a strong, unique password for your IDX account. See Changing your account password.
- Turn on two-factor authentication if it's offered under Security settings in your account menu. You'll then need a code from an authenticator app as well as your password.
- Protect your email. Whoever controls your email can reset your IDX password, so secure that mailbox with a strong password and two-factor authentication too.
- Give team members their own access instead of sharing your password. See Contacts and team access.
Recognise fake messages (phishing)
- IDX will never ask for your password, card number or verification codes.
- Check links before clicking: our client area is my.insidx.com. A slightly different address is a fake.
- Be suspicious of urgent messages threatening to suspend your service "within an hour" unless you pay through a link. Sign in to the client area yourself to check your invoices instead.
If you think someone else has accessed your account, change your password immediately and contact support.
