How to start a website as a podcaster or content creator

Platforms change their rules; your own domain does not. A creator website gives you a home for your audience, sponsors and products.

IDX·November 6, 2026·1 min read

YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and podcast apps are where people discover you. Your website is where you own the relationship: email list, sponsorships, merchandise and courses.

What to include

  • Latest episodes or videos, embedded from the platforms.
  • About you and what your audience gets.
  • Newsletter sign-up, the most valuable thing on the page.
  • Media kit for sponsors: audience numbers, demographics and packages.
  • Shop or courses, when you are ready.

Step 1: domain

Your name or show name as a .com, .tv or .fm. Register it at IDX and put it in every bio and description.

Step 2: hosting

A creator site with embedded media is light: IDX shared hosting is enough. Selling merchandise or courses? Move to web hosting.

Step 3: email for sponsors

Brands take you more seriously at partnerships@yourname.com. Set it up with business email.

Step 4: build

A clean theme, fast pages and a prominent sign-up form. Embed media rather than uploading large video or audio files to your hosting.

Step 5: turn followers into subscribers

Mention your website in every episode, offer something useful for signing up, and email your list regularly.

Grow with IDX

If you create content about technology or business, the IDX affiliate programme is another way to earn from your audience.
