Installing an OV or Wildcard certificate
Generate a CSR, validate, and install the certificate in cPanel.

1. Generate a CSR
- In cPanel, open SSL/TLS → Certificate Signing Requests (CSR).
- Enter the domain (for a wildcard,
*.example.com) and your company details exactly as registered. - Click Generate and copy the CSR text.
2. Validation
Send the CSR in the ticket for your certificate order, or paste it in the configuration step. Then complete validation:
- DV / Wildcard DV: by email, a DNS record or a file on your site.
- OV: the certificate authority also checks your company's documents, which takes 1 to 3 days.
3. Install
- When the certificate is issued, open SSL/TLS → Manage SSL sites in cPanel.
- Choose the domain, paste the certificate (and the CA bundle), and click Install Certificate.
