Changing your domain's nameservers
Point the domain to IDX hosting, or to another provider.

Steps
- Sign in to the client area and open the domain under My domains.
- Open Nameservers.
- Choose Use custom nameservers and enter the new ones, usually two or more.
- Click Change nameservers.
Which nameservers?
- Hosting with IDX: use the nameservers in your hosting welcome email.
- Hosting elsewhere, or a platform such as Shopify: you can keep IDX's nameservers and add the records the platform gives you, or use the nameservers the other provider gives you.
Changing nameservers moves all your DNS records, including email (MX). Before switching, make sure the new DNS provider has every record you need, or your email may stop.
