IDX Agent for Monitoring
A server provider sees your machine from the outside. IDX Agent sees it from the inside: how full each disk is, how much memory is left, how hard it is working and which services have stopped. You see it all in your IDX Panel, minute by minute.

What it monitors
The numbers only the server itself knows
Sent every minute and shown per server in your IDX Panel.
Disk space, every drive
Used and total space on each disk, as a share of its size.
Memory
How much RAM is in use, so you see it running out before it does.
Load
The server's load, to spot a machine working too hard.
Uptime
How long the server has been running since its last restart.
Stopped services
Services that failed, with the last lines of their log.
Agent heartbeat
A reading every minute, so a silent server stands out.
Alerts
Know before your customers do
Clear alerts by email and on the panel's Security & resources page, each with what to do next.
- Disk filling upA warning when a disk passes 85%, and a critical alert at 95%.
- Memory running lowAn alert before the server runs out of RAM.
- A service stoppedWhich service, the likely reason, and a ready command to fix it.
- AcknowledgeYour team knows someone is on it.
- Ignore on this serverSilence a service you don't use on one server.
- ResolvedClose the alert; it comes back only if the problem does.
Each decision is recorded in the panel's activity log; view-only team members can't act on alerts.
How it works
From install to your first reading in a minute
- 01
Copy the command
Each server in the IDX Panel has its own install command and key.
- 02
Run it once
Linux: one curl line. Windows: one PowerShell line. No other software needed.
- 03
Readings every minute
The agent sends its readings to the IDX Panel over an encrypted link.
- 04
Alerts when it matters
By email and on the panel's Security & resources page.
Security by design
It can look, but it can't touch
A monitoring agent that could run commands would be a risk to every server it is on. IDX Agent was built so it can't.
Read-only
It never accepts commands. Nobody can run anything on your server through it, even with access to the panel.
A key per server
Each key can only send readings for its own server. Issue a new one any time and the old one stops working.
Readings only
Disk, memory, load, uptime and service status. No files, no passwords, nothing else.
One destination
It talks to panel.insidx.com only, over an encrypted connection.

FAQ
IDX Agent questions
What is IDX Agent for Monitoring?
A lightweight monitoring agent you install on a server with one command. Your IDX Panel then shows disk space, memory, load, uptime and stopped services every minute, and warns you before a problem becomes an outage.
Is it free?
Yes. IDX Agent is free on every IDX server for a limited time.
Which systems does it run on?
Linux and Windows. On Linux it is one curl line; on Windows, one PowerShell line.
Can anyone control my server through it?
No. The agent is read-only and accepts no commands, so nothing can be run on your server through it.
What does it send?
Disk space, memory, load, uptime and service status, plus the last log lines of a service that stopped. No files and no passwords.
When do I get an alert?
When a disk passes 85% or 95%, when memory runs low, or when a service stops. Alerts arrive by email and appear in the IDX Panel.
Why isn't the provider's monitoring enough?
A provider sees the machine from the outside: whether it is on and its network traffic. Used disk space, memory and services are known only to the operating system, and that is what IDX Agent reads.
Will it be installed on my server without my consent?
No. Installing it on customers' servers is optional and done only with the customer's consent.
